This oblong box has a beautiful bas relief image of a lady's head, the "Puritan Maid", with stylised plant stems on either side and raised oval panels. All four sides of the main body are adorned with plain raised panels and the lid is secured with a large hinged clasp held by copper rivets. The box stands on four domed feet and is lined with cedar wood panels.
