Old English Thread is a classic variation on the Old English pattern and was originally produced around 1785. Cutlery sets made at the end of the Victorian era and through to the end of the First World War represent the zenith of quality in both workmanship and gauge of silver used in the making and this set, mostly made by William Hutton of Sheffield, bears this out. All pieces are fitted in the original oak canteen. 12 table forks (1 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 1910) 12 dessert forks (1 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 1910) 12 table soup spoons (1 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 1910) 12 dessert spoons (1 silver-plated) 12 teaspoons (2 by Walker & Hall, 1906) 12 egg spoons with gilded bowls 4 gravy ladles 1 soup ladle 2 salt spoons 1 mustard spoon Antique knives rarely survive so this set is completed with 12 new pairs of silver table and dessert knives with stainless steel blades and dishwasher safe.
