We are currently researching to find out the name of the maker. The trowel inscription reads: UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL PRESENTED TO T FENWICK HARRISON ESQ BY THE ARCHITECTS BRIGGS, WOLSTENHOLME & THORNELY ON LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NEW ENGINEERING LABORATORIES 22 OCTOBER 1910 The mallet bears an identical inscription but presented to the builders "Joshua Henshaw & Sons".
