Hand forged silver Old English Thread cutlery

Place: London
Product ID LB2-11
Weight 3357g (111 troy ozs)

A hand-made Victorian set of silver cutlery for 12 people in the Old English Thread pattern. Old English Thread - a variation on the Old English pattern - adds a simple thread to the stems of the cutlery. Old English is the classic and definitive flatware pattern that was first produced in the middle of the 18th century and continues to this day. Sets like this made at the end of the Victorian era and through to the end of the First World War represent the zenith of quality in both workmanship and gauge of silver used in the making. All pieces were made by George Adams who produced some of the finest quality silver flatware of the period.  This service comprises:

12 table forks

12 dessert forks

12 tablespoons

12 dessert spoons

1 large serving or basting spoon

12 Fiddle & Thread pattern egg spoons are also included

Since antique knives rarely survive, the service includes 12 pairs of new matching silver table and dessert knives with stainless steel blades making them dishwasher safe.
