Fine and substantial set of antique hand-forged Bead pattern silver cutlery or flatware and made by George Adams in London, except where stated.

It was Hester Bateman in the 1780s, the pre-eminent English lady silversmith, who introduced the simple beaded border on the Old English shape creating a neoclassical style that reflected the popularity of bead jewellery of the time and the pattern's popularity carried on into the nineteenth century.

This silver cutlery set is in excellent condition and comprises:

12 table forks
12 tablespoons (8 x Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater)
12 dessert forks
12 dessert spoons
12 teaspoons
2 sauce ladles
1 basting spoon
1 butter spreader

Since antique knives rarely survive, this antique silver cutlery set is completed with 12 modern silver table knives and 12 modern silver dessert knives with round-end bead or pointed bead silver handles. They are fitted with stainless steel blades ensuring they are dishwasher safe.
