Pair silver pheasants

Made by Barnard Brothers for Mappin & Webb, this fine pair of silver pheasants are depicted in a classic pose. This silver cock and hen pheasant couple are particularly fine examples of silver game bird modelling, showing fine quality hand chasing of the feathering and of the legs, feet and claws.
First made popular in England during the early part of the 20th century, silver pheasants are popular for decorating a dining table or sideboard.
Dimensions shown are for the male, cock silver pheasant. The female hen measures 290mm x 230mm (11½" x 9"), and 130mm (5") tall.
