Exclusive to Langfords, this is a heavy, cast silver model of a snarling fox with his head turned, realistically hand-chased to good effect.
Like all Langfords' models, this silver model fox is cast in heavy gauge sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
The Celts believed the fox to be a guide, to be honoured for its wisdom and they would rely upon the fox as their chaperone into the spirit world.
