In a pose with his nose to the ground., this is another excellent heavy, cast silver model of a Scottish terrier (Scottie). Hailing from Scotland, they were originally were bred for vermin hunting. This silver model shows his wiry coat, a thick-set body, plus erect ears and tail which are salient features of the breed.
Like all our models, this Scottie is cast in heavy-gauge sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
