The English springer spaniel is a breed of gun dog traditionally used for flushing and retrieving game. Our silver model springer spaniel has the classic "spaniel" look to him: medium-length coat, feathering on his legs and distinctive long ears.
Like all Langfords' silver models, this spaniel is cast in heavy gauge sterling silver using the traditional, centuries-old technique of lost wax casting where molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the silver has solidified, the wax model is melted and drained away. Each of our models is then individually hand chased to produce the lifelike effect seen in the finished piece.
