Magnificent Art Nouveau antique silver vase

Large antique American silver vase made in the Art Nouveau style. The two swirling handles are cast in the the form of mermaids draped in seaweed and holding laurel wreaths in outstretched arms. The body and base of this silver vase are hand chased in finely detailed high relief featuring scallop shells, oak leaves and acorns, plus laurels in sections around the base. The rim has an applied scroll pattern border while the base has a cast and applied fanned flute, scroll and shell pattern mount . The interior is gilded.
