Antique Edwardian pepper mill with cut glass body, cut by hand with a diamond pattern and fitted with sterling silver mounts. The mill incorporates the classic Peugeot grinding mechanism.
Before making cars, since the early 19th century, Peugeot was making excellent steel grinding mechanisms for flour, coffee and pepper. English silversmiths of the era recognised the grinders did the job supremely well so incorporated them into their silver pepper mills. In fact, Peugeot is noted for making the finest milling mechanism in the world that will work perfectly, even after more than 150 years.
