Incorporating classical motifs of the style, set of four candlesticks have round bases and tapering fluted stems, rising to cast, vase-shaped sconces that feature with stylised acanthus leaf detail. The two three-light arms are with swirling reeded arms.

Neoclassicism was born in Rome in the mid-18th century before spreading throughout Europe. It is the name given to Western movements in the arts and architecture that draw inspiration from the classical art and culture of Ancient Greece or Rome.
