Victorian hand-forged silver cutlery service for 12 in the Fiddle Thread & Shell design. A charming design based on the fiddle shape with thread borders and shell motif, while shells appear on the reverse head and heel. This is heavy quality set is in superb condition with very little wear to the pattern or hallmarks. The pattern gained popularity in colonial America from about 1810 and is still very popular today.

Since antique knives rarely survive, this service includes 12 pairs of modern table and dessert knives, with stainless steel blades making them safe to go in the dishwasher. We would recommend Thread & Shell, Reed & Shell or Lamerie Pistol pattern knives to complement the service.
