Silver-topped whisky noggin

Silver-topped whisky noggin

Sold

Classic, conical glass whiskey noggin, or individual whisky server, with hand-cut starburst on the base and a plain silver flip lid and thumbpiece.

The whisky noggin is traditionally considered to be of Scottish origin and "go to bed" or "chota peg" in anglo-Indian colonial speak.

The noggin is used for serving an individual portion of whisky equivalent to a gill (quarter of a pint) and sufficient to have a soporific effect on the drinker.
