Pair of gorgeous late-19th-century antique silver and etched glass wine jugs in the Louis XV style. The baluster-shaped glass bodies are delicately hand engraved in fine detail showing branches of leaves and blossoms.

The 1st quality (.950) silver mounts feature the original lemon gilding and are decorated with branches, leaves, buds and flowers down to the stepped pedestal base. The necks of these beautiful wine jugs have similar elegant decorations with the inclusion of shell and scalloped motifs and an oval cartouche.

Edmond Tétard participated in the Universal Exposition of 1889 in Paris, the international exposition held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille and whose main attraction was the new Eiffel Tower.
