Small Asprey silver dumbbell cocktail shaker

Small Asprey silver dumbbell cocktail shaker

Sold

Excellent example of the silver dumbbell cocktail shaker first introduced by Asprey in 1932, a time when Asprey was Britain's leading designer, manufacturer and retailer of luxury novelty items and the cocktail culture was all the rage.

For the inner weightlifter, this great looking silver cocktail shaker has Art Deco styling and a three-piece design. One bell screws off and is fitted with the strainer.

This is our kind of pushing up weights!

Art Deco was a popular design style in the 1920s and 1930s characterised especially by sleek geometric or stylised forms. It represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress. For that reason silver cocktail and barware were popular categories of goods to reflect the style of the time.
