A lovely silver and tortoiseshell backed dressing table set, comprising two hair brushes, two clothes brushes, a hand mirror and a comb, fitted in its original case. The tortoiseshell backs are inset with delicate, finely detailed Japanese characters, pagodas and traditional garden scenes in silver that has been hand engraved and pressed in. The natural bristles used on the hair brushes have been sterilised ready for use.
Dimensions given are for the hand mirror. The hairbrushes are 235mm x 73mm while the clothes brushes are 150mm x 37mm.
The tortoiseshell comb with silver mount was made in Birmingham and is 190mm x 40mm
