A handmade silver photo frame with flat front and square edges. It has a tall lower section, ideal for taking an inscription, and attractive cut design in the Art Deco style in the top corners. The photo frame has a lovely wood back and the portrait style aperture will take a photograph 225mm x 195mm (9" x 7¾").
Representing modernism, Art Deco style originated in the 1920s and developed into a major style in Europe and the United States during the 1930s when individually crafted luxury items were created with the intention of creating a sleek and anti-traditional elegance that symbolised wealth and sophistication.
