Handsome antique wine jug with a glass body in the Webb's rock crystal style, beautifully hand cut and engraved with panels of flower-heads and foliage. The silver mounts have the original, now faded, gilding and are hand chased with panels of fruit, foliage and scrollwork. There is a shield on either side of the silver mount which is suitable for engraving.
Beneath the collar of the jug is a silver apron decorated with beading and fanned foliage; a design that is repeated on the domed cover and spreading circular base. A cast silver scallop shell sits decoratively beneath the silver jug's spout.
