Impressive fluted Victorian silver bowl

Impressive fluted Victorian silver bowl

Sold

This large and impressive antique silver punch bowl was made by Elkington & Co in 1893. It is substantially heavy, weighing almost 100 troy oz, and is classically decorated with half-fluting to the bottom half of the bowl with a band of harebell garlands and ribbons above. There is an empty space on one side that has been left blank for an inscription or crest, but unusually has never been engraved.

This bowl makes a magnificent centrepiece and would serve wonderfully as a chiller for four or six bottles of wine. A wooden plinth that fits the base, is available if desired.

This large silver bowl is not available for purchase online. If you are interested please get in touch.
