An exceptional set of King's pattern silver cutlery made in 1839 by William Bateman of London. All pieces are in superb original condition with wonderful definition to the pattern, and no engraved crests or monograms. It is fitted in its original attractive wooden canteen box.

A popular English pattern, King's pattern features the honeysuckle flowers and shell motifs. Credited to the silversmithing brothers John and Henry Lias, the pattern dates from around 1820 and was heavily influenced by the decor and ornamentation of the period.
