This silver and gilt cream or milk jug has the signature of a Christopher Lawrence piece; stylish and with a bark-finish gilded spout and handle. The interior is also gilded.
The bark finish design was popular in the 1960s and '70s - a design that Gerald Benney and Christopher were known for; so it's not surprising to know that Christopher Lawrence was Benney's workshop manager in the mid 1960s.
