Superb silver tea and coffee set made by the royal silversmith, Paul Storr, in 1809. The set comprises a teapot, a coffee pot on warmer, a sugar bowl and a cream jug. This is an original Paul Storr design; each piece is round in form with a frieze of honeysuckle and tulips. The wooden handles of the teapot and coffee pot are carved as twin serpents with cast silver tail and head mounts.
The coat of arms is for Kerr, Marquis of Lothian.
