Stylish four-piece Art Deco style sterling silver tea set including a hot water jug to replenish the teapot. The hot water jug could double as a coffee pot making this into a tea and coffee set.
The bold, clean forms of the pieces are typical of the Art Deco style and the stepped motifs can be seen around the pot covers, silver handles and finials. The handles and finials are stained fruitwood.
Art Deco was the popular design style spreading across Europe in the 1920s and 1930s and characterised especially by sleek geometric or stylised forms. It represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.
