Heavy-gauge, solid sterling silver beaker with gilded interior and decorated with the textured bark design that became synonymous with Gerald Benney silver design.

As the dominant British silversmith in the second half of the 20th century, 
Gerald Benney CBE was a British silver and goldsmith whose early work was influenced by the clean, minimal forms of modern Scandinavian design. His creative and manufacturing skills were highly innovative and his signature bark texture was a special technique he created using a bent hammer and his texturing techniques went on to be emulated by others.
