Fine quality set of heavy-gauge, hand-forged Fiddle Thread and Shell sterling silver cutlery made by one of the best flatware silversmiths of the 19th century, George Adams. All pieces are double-struck signifying that the design is struck on the front and back of each piece, necessitating a heavier gauge of silver and therefore a sign of superior quality.

The fork tines and bowls are all strong and thick while the pattern is clearly defined on both sides and shows little or no signs of wear. All pieces are in very good indeed condition and suitable for daily use.

The Fiddle Thread and Shell design first came to prominence circa 1818 and continues to be made to the present day.

This beautiful cutlery set comprises:

12 tablespoons
12 table forks
12 dessert spoons
12 dessert forks
12 teaspoons

Since antique knives in any pattern rarely survive, 12 pairs of modern table and dessert knives, in the complementary Old English Shell pattern, complete this cutlery service. The sterling silver knife handles are fitted with stainless steel blades, meaning they can be safely cleaned in the dishwasher.
