This is an excellent set of antique hand-forged Old English Thread pattern sterling silver cutlery made by George Adams, one of the finest cutlery silversmiths of the 19th century. All pieces are double-struck signifying that the design is struck on the front and back of each piece, necessitating a heavier gauge of silver and therefore a sign of quality.

The spoon bowls and fork tines are all strong, and the hard-soldered knives weighted. Altogether a set that is in extremely good condition and suitable for daily use.

This Old English variant was first made in the 1760s but became popular in the 1780s and is still made today. The reverse is double threaded and it makes a lovely variation to the Old English pattern. Its classic simplicity makes Old English Thread a consistently popular choice to fit seamlessly into both traditional or modern settings.

12 tablespoons
12 table forks
