This elegant oblong silver teapot has a beautifully proportioned body and features an attractive fluted decoration around the bottom half of the pot. Flared gadroon borders and shell and scroll corners elevate the design to make a very attractive silver teapot. Made by William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield in 1890, the teapot stands on four ball feet and is finished with a contrasting ebonised handle and finial.
This teapot is a fine example of late Victorian silverware, combining understated decoration with excellent craftsmanship.
With a capacity of 30 fl oz (900 ml) this makes a perfect breakfast teapot, enough for six good cups of your favourite Oolong or Darjeeling.
