Unusually large and heavy antique silver basting or serving spoon in the Old English Thread pattern, engraved with a family crest depicting a leopard rampant.

This Old English variant was first made in the 1760s but became popular in the mid 1780s. The reverse is threaded and it makes a lovely variation to the Old English pattern. Spoons can be made with nibs front or back. Its classic simplicity makes Old English Thread a consistently popular choice.
