Pair antique Old English Thread silver gravy ladles

Pair antique Old English Thread silver gravy ladles

Sold

Pair of hand-forged sterling silver gravy ladles double-struck with the Old English Thread pattern. Double struck means the thread pattern appears on both sides of the silver ladles and is a sign of superior quality. Each ladle is engraved with a family crest of a hand holding up two fingers and a thumb.

This Old English variant was first made in the 1760s but became popular in the mid 1780s and makes a lovely variation to the Old English pattern. Its classic simplicity makes Old English Thread a consistently popular choice
