Substantial and impressive capstan-shaped silver inkwell made by Omar Ramsden, considered by many to be the greatest silversmith of the 20th century and whose pieces are very collectable. The silver body is hand hammered to create the multi-faceted effect and a typical Ramsden design motir, and the inkwell is fitted with its original glass liner.
The hand hammered finish to the body of this silver inkwell, along with the cast details, is reminiscent of the Arts & Crafts period and a frequent feature of much of Ramsden's work.
