This good quality silver-plated claret jug or wine jug was made in the mid 19th century with a beautifully decorated collar depicting grape vines and Bacchanalian masks with a cast spout in the form of Bacchus himself.

The finial is cast as a heraldic lion holding a shield with portcullis engraving and the plain glass body has a star cut base.
